Google’s October Demand Gen Drop adds a Data Strength Uplift metric to Google Ads and extends Data Manager to Display & Video 360 and Google Analytics. Enhanced conversions are due to follow in both products.

Google published the update on October 13. The Data Strength Uplift metric is launching in the Google Ads interface and is meant to show the conversion gains that come from an advertiser’s data setup. Data Manager, the tool for connecting and managing first-party data, is expanding to Display & Video 360 and Google Analytics. Google says enhanced conversions will soon be available in both as well, to improve measurement accuracy and support bidding.

The post leads with a claim: based on an internal analysis, advertisers who build their data strength with Google Tag Gateway see, on average, over 20% conversion uplift in Demand Gen campaigns. A footnote gives the basis as Google data, global, June 3 to June 17, 2026. It also names one customer result: the insurance platform The Zebra reports a 16% increase in conversion volume and a 19% increase in overall conversion value after implementing data strength.

Why it matters

The 20% figure is Google’s average from a two-week window and an internal analysis, so it describes a group of advertisers. The Data Strength Uplift metric is the part an advertiser can check, because it reports the effect of the data setup inside the interface where campaign results already sit.

In our reading, teams asking for engineering time on tag gateway or enhanced conversions can use the metric once it reaches their account. Pair it with a holdout or an independent measure before it goes into a budget case.
