Event marketing has spent years getting better at recording activity: a badge scanned, a booth visited, a session attended. It has been much slower to prove what that activity was actually worth in pipeline, which is the number a CFO or CMO actually wants from an event budget.
Captello, a lead capture platform for enterprise event programs, is trying to close that gap directly. On July 30, the company announced the next generation of its platform alongside a rebuilt captello.com, consolidating lead capture, data enrichment, meeting management, event activations, and revenue intelligence into a single system built to connect every event interaction to attributable pipeline. The launch leans on third-party research to frame the problem: 79% of event leads never get any follow-up, according to CEIR data cited by Captello, while separate research put at 58% the share of event marketers who lose leads to inefficient capture and at 47% those who struggle to get event data into their CRM at all. “None of it tells a CFO or CMO what the event returned,” said Ryan Schefke, Captello’s chief executive. “We built the platform around one question: what did this event do for revenue?”
The rebuild bundles a badge, business card, QR, or LinkedIn-code scanning tool with a data enrichment engine drawing on more than 125 providers, plus meeting management and an “Event Revenue Intelligence” layer that turns captured interactions into cost-per-lead, revenue-per-lead, and pipeline-influence figures rather than raw attendance counts.
The original insight: this is the events category catching up to the same revenue-attribution pressure already reshaping how CRM platforms sell themselves on pipeline and revenue outcomes, not just activity logs. It also extends a trend already visible in real-time data layers built around in-person lead capture: event technology is being pulled into the same attribution standard the rest of the martech stack is held to.
