Snapchat rolled out a series of new advertising formats designed to capture larger brand budgets by offering premium placements and AI-powered creative capabilities. The new Total Snap Takeovers format allows advertisers to appear as the first ad placement across multiple sections of the app simultaneously, designed to maximize reach and visibility for major campaign launches.

The platform also launched Sponsored AI Lenses powered by Snap’s proprietary generative AI technology, generating personalized, AI-driven images that place users at the center of branded experiences. The format extends Snap’s long-standing AR lens franchise into the generative AI era, offering brands interactive creative that adapts to each user rather than serving static overlays.

Additional format updates include an Offers feature in beta that integrates promotions directly into ads to shorten the purchase path, Multi-Segment Dynamic Product Ads, and tests of Vertical Carousel Ads and Product-Level Video Ads. Sponsored Snaps, which place brand messages directly in users’ Chat feeds, are now available globally and reportedly driving measurable outcomes for advertisers.

The format expansion positions Snapchat to compete more aggressively against TikTok and Instagram for performance and brand advertising budgets by combining its reach among younger demographics with increasingly sophisticated AI-powered creative tools.
