Zeta Global (NYSE: ZETA) said on Oct. 5, 2026 that it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Senso, a Y Combinator-backed AI engineering company whose technology helps power Zeta’s generative engine optimization (GEO) offering.

According to Zeta’s release, the acquisition will bring additional technology in-house, add AI engineering talent and deepen Zeta’s connectivity to frontier models. Zeta says that, combined with the Zeta Data Cloud, Senso will accelerate products that help enterprises “optimize and remediate how brands reach customers across leading AI platforms,” naming ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Google AI Overviews. It also says the combination will identify who AI-generated answers are reaching and connect those insights to customer intelligence and marketing activation.

Saroop Bharwani, Senso’s co-founder and CEO, and the Senso team will join Zeta. David A. Steinberg, Zeta’s co-founder, chairman and CEO, described the deal as “an important move in its own right and separate from the announcements we will make at Zeta Live 2026.” Zeta says it will work with the Senso team to provide continuity for customers, and that LUMA Partners advised Senso. The release gives no price, deal structure or expected closing date.

Why it matters

Senso’s technology was already part of Zeta’s GEO product, so the agreement moves a supplier inside the company. It is one of two acquisition agreements Zeta announced in consecutive days, and it sits alongside the AthenaOS launch we cover in our article on AthenaOS.

In our reading, the deal puts two jobs under one vendor, measuring how a brand appears in AI answers and activating customer data against that result. Teams evaluating GEO tools can ask where the visibility data is stored and how it is joined to customer records.
