As rising advertising costs, AI-driven disruption, and growing competition make traditional digital marketing less effective, brands are shifting their focus from broad, scale-based campaigns to highly targeted, trust-driven email marketing.

Breaker is enabling this transition through AI-powered precision targeting, real-time insights, and measurable ROI, highlighting how personalized email engagement delivers stronger B2B marketing outcomes than conventional advertising channels.

Q1. What are the biggest mistakes organizations continue to make in email marketing despite advances in automation and AI?

The hardest part about using AI is figuring out how to use it. Understanding what it’s capable of, where it’s accurate, and where it creates real efficiencies for your team – and most importantly, what questions you ask. On a month-to-month basis, both the AI models and harnesses improve, and our team improves at implementing AI in our processes and products.

With email marketing specifically, there are two types of mistakes I see most often:

  • Lazy content: “mailing it in” with AI-generated content instead of using it as a research and copywriting tool while maintaining commitment to understanding the reader and how to structure your message; and
  • Not asking it your hardest questions in analytics and attribution (even simple things like giving it access to your readership and your paid clients/customers and asking it on average how long it takes subscribers to buy and how many issues the average subscriber opens before they buy).

Q2. Why is email marketing becoming a strategic growth channel, and what role should behavioral data play in determining when, how, and why brands communicate through email?

In the modern content landscape, the answer is almost always “and” not “versus.” If your event keynotes become newsletters, or you flesh out a LinkedIn post in a full-length newsletter, the game is increasingly about surface area as different customers prefer different channels and are on different platforms at different times. Newsletters are the cornerstone of “being everywhere,” and it’s the one channel where you have complete visibility into who in your ICP is showing interest in what

Q3. As AI-generated content becomes increasingly common, how can brands preserve authenticity, credibility, and trust in their marketing communications?

We still hire real, expert copywriters to work with us. I know they use AI, but “writing a lot of words” was never a skill. The skill has always been understanding the customer and crafting messages that build trust and convert. AI is an acceleration tool for research and drafting, not a replacement for real skill. (It’s also a poor way to learn skills.)

Q4. In what ways does Breaker’s approach enable brands to deliver more relevant, personalized customer interactions without increasing operational complexity?

Breaker automates the hardest parts of running a B2B newsletter: targeting and growth. We don’t assume we know your customers better than you do, but we can cut your top-of-funnel acquisition costs at scale with your messaging. Every other growth channel for newsletters has either proven to be cheap but ineffective or effective but expensive. Breaker solves both problems by enabling growth that’s both inexpensive and effective.

Q5. How does Breaker’s TruSend™ technology transform email from a traditional communication channel into a precision engagement platform?

TruSend™ is what we call “email intelligence.” Similar to how AI opened the door to non-deterministic interactions with computers, which enable programs to be nuanced and understand intent, TruSend™ similarly evaluates a multitude of variables to understand intent, interests, and probabilities to grow a B2B newsletter’s distribution in a way that understands the nuance of your offer and your market.
